SAMARTH Admission Portal

The Directorate of Higher Education, Assam, has initiated registration for admission to UG courses through the SAMARTH portal. SAMARTH Admission Portal is a common application portal of Assam where students can apply online for admission to undergraduate courses. On this portal, students can submit admission applications for courses like BA, BCom, BSc, BCA etc. Earlier, a similar initiative was taken by the Government of Assam for higher secondary first-year admission by launching the DARPAN portal.

Applicants who are permanent residents of Assam must answer “Yes” to the “Do you have domicile of Assam?” question and are required to upload one of the specified documents in the PRC field. This change is mandatory.

It is important for all students to be aware that in certain colleges, they are required to register on the college’s portal as well. Once students have submitted their applications through the SAMARTH portal, they may need to complete the registration process on the respective college’s portal in order to secure their admission.

The Directorate of Higher Education, Assam has developed an online admission portal called SAMARTH. The SAMARTH Online Admission Portal will be used to receive applications for admission to various colleges and universities in Assam for various undergraduate courses. This will reduce the hassle of students submitting separate applications for different colleges. The portal will provide students with an option to submit applications for admission to a maximum of 10 institutes. Also, it will solve the overlapping issue by allowing each student to take admission into only one institute. Similarly, this portal will help institutions and governments to implement various welfare schemes directly.

Assam Admission Fee Waiver Scheme

Students should note that the well-known fee waiver scheme of the Government of Assam will be provided only to those students who will take admissions through the SAMARTH Admission Portal. As per the official notification, the fee waiver scheme of the Assam Government will be linked to SAMARTH. As such all deserving students can avail fee waiver only when the students apply through the SAMARTH platform. We urge all students to use the SAMARTH online admission portal to take admission into the various colleges and universities of Assam.

How to Apply for Assam College Admission?

Students who have appeared or passed the HS final exam or equivalent can submit applications to take admission to Colleges and Universities in Assam using the SAMARTH Online Admission Portal. Note that the applications for admission will be accepted through the SAMARTH Portal and the actual admission will be done in offline mode in the college. Students have to submit online applications on the SAMARTH portal after which merit lists will be issued based on which they will have to visit their respective institutes to take admission. Our users can follow the following steps to submit an online application for admission to undergraduate courses.

o   Scroll down and check the Important Link section.

o   Click on the Online Application Link.

o   Now, an official web portal will load in the new tab of your browser.

o   In that portal, you will get the option to register yourself.

o   After registration, you have to provide all your required details.

o   After that, you have to upload your documents.

o   After successful completion of the above steps, your application will be submitted.

o   Also, you will receive an acknowledgement copy of your submission.

o   Keep that acknowledgement copy for future use.

Students must prepare the following documents in scanned copies before proceeding with the online application process. Students need to upload the following documents in specific file formats and file sizes to complete their application process. Students should note that the file format of the files will need to be JPG or JPEG. Also, the size of the file should be between 10 KB to 500 KB.
